Red-Winged Blackbird

I was back at it with another bird video today.

This is the finished painting. Going dark with watercolors has always been tricky for me. I think this turned out pretty well, though. At the very least, it was a confidence booster to go bold and dark in the future.

My ValleyFair Respite and Subsequent Reflection

The summer has come to a close for me, and because I have been so bad at updating this blog, I will throw gratuitous amounts of drawings at you over the next couple days. I didn't take many photos of my drawings this summer partly because some of them were uninspired, cutsey, tween drawings and also because I didn't think of taking photos at the time.

But without further ado, below are some of the pics I did snap while out at Valleyfair.

Francois Hollande's Opus

I wasn't entirely sure about this cartoon initially, but after I worked out some of the dialogue, I felt better. Plus French President Hollande has a really fun face to draw. I'll be looking forward to drawing him again in the future.

Scott Walker: Entrepreneur

It's been a while since I drew any editorial cartoons. I've had some time off this week and thought I would do a toon or two. Then I realized it was Wisconsin's recall primary elections on Tuesday which meant that the official recall election was less than a month away. What better time to start cartooning again. On another note, as of Tuesday, Scott Walker had raised $25 million in campaign contributions 60% of which came from out of state. Legal? Yes. Should it be? No.

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge

Here's the finished(?) illustration from my last post. I'm a little hesitant to call it totally finished because I'll probably revisit it in a few days and completely change it.
As you can see, I switched Mittens around a little bit. I thought it would be a little more affective. Let me know if it was a bad idea!

Christmas With The Boys

I just finished this watercolor up today. I alluded to my painting frustrations of last week in my previous post, and this here be the culprit. Despite all the problems the painting provided, I was happy with how the caricatures turned out.
