Bushy, bushy eyebrows make me happy. These two guys were a lot of fun to draw.

Francois Hollande's Opus

I wasn't entirely sure about this cartoon initially, but after I worked out some of the dialogue, I felt better. Plus French President Hollande has a really fun face to draw. I'll be looking forward to drawing him again in the future.

I Could Go For A Slice

Not much to say about this cartoon. It isn't especially ideological or poignant, but I felt compelled to draw it none the less.

Birthday Reciprocation

For my 25th birthday, a month and a half ago, my good friend and poet Kyle wrote me this birthday poem:

Happy Birthday to the kind of man we all ought to want to become, the kind of man who makes others feel less like men while simultaneously being more for having known him, the kind of man who gives the goddesses he encounters reason to believe in the gender he comes from. Thank you, Marc, for empowering my simple and unworthy being, for progressing the integrity of all of us rogues who never even dreamed of having a sliver of it until you drew near.

My pride in you brings tears to my face, and it's the salt of those tears that flavors my regret of not having shared the anniversary of your birth with you, the man who, as legend has it, was there.

I wish I was. I wish I could sing about it in the key of B major, for Major Birthday. I wish you a happy birthday where friendship is the gift that keeps on giving and sadness is the only candle that gets blown out. I wish to be the Marilyn Monroe to your JFK. More than that, I wish to be the leap in every year you take in approaching old age. I wish sympathy for every other century that hasn't had you in it 25% of the time.

Your right arm was born, followed by your left, and the sky came to know Lightning and Thunder. Your bottom was smooth as a baby's bottom, and now they say a baby's bottom is smooth as yours.

Yours is the only chapter of facebook I care to read.

It is also the only chapter I care to read in braille.

Leave it to you, Marc--it's your birthday and you should be getting gifts, and still we are the ones getting all of your presence. I'll be damned if I'm not ashamed.

Ashamed, of course. Grateful, every single year.

So of course I felt I had to hit him back with a painting.

Scott Walker: Entrepreneur

It's been a while since I drew any editorial cartoons. I've had some time off this week and thought I would do a toon or two. Then I realized it was Wisconsin's recall primary elections on Tuesday which meant that the official recall election was less than a month away. What better time to start cartooning again. On another note, as of Tuesday, Scott Walker had raised $25 million in campaign contributions 60% of which came from out of state. Legal? Yes. Should it be? No.

IF: Hitched

I did this painting for a freelance job this week, but I thought it fit the IF topic: "hitched." Even though Rick Santorum dropped out of the Presidential race some time ago, he really tried to combine his religious ideologies with his would-be political policies. Not only is that fundamentally wrong, but ultimately it was his demise. In so doing, he "hitched" himself to a persona that Republicans did not want.

Eric Cantor

I did this sketch of Rep. Eric Cantor some time ago and completely forgot about it. I was leafing through an old sketchbook today and came across it and decided that I'll have to do a painting of him and John Boehner sometime this week.

Here's a quick caricature of my cousin's son. My aunt commissioned this for a Mother's Day gift and I was pleased with how quickly I was able to finish it. (well, semi-finished at the moment, just a few quick touch ups and it'll be done.)
